2. Call to Witness to the Life‐Giving Oikos

In our faith in the Spirit we are able to discern that all living beings are crying out for a new foundation and order of life. The eyes of our faith discern and are seeking to clarify an Ecumenical Vision for a New Garden of New Life under New Heaven and Earth, which is emerging beyond the horizon of the valley of death and destruction.

A new ecumenical horizon needs to be sought through radical self‐examination, self‐reflection and self‐transformation. The ecumenical movement calls for a deeper unity of our Church and a deeper fellowship (koinonia) not only among Christian people, but also for a wider convergence of religious faiths and beliefs through intensive dialogue, wider cooperation and solidarity, for the sake of all living beings in God’s garden.

The time has come for the ecumenical movement to engage in re‐building the Life‐Giving Oikos together with the Triune God, who is working to redeem the whole creation from death. The WCC is called to take a crucial role in this movement to open a way for a new cosmic order toward a new life-giving civilization through its actions for the revitalization of the ecumenical movement.
